Martha Ray Moore Hicks

Martha Ray Moore Hicks, 81, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 1, 1944, to Jimmy S. Moore and Florine Sally Crawford Guidry.

Martha was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in her family and home. She had a true green thumb and loved spending time in her garden. A talented cook and baker, she was known for preparing delicious five-course meals for her loved ones. Though she enjoyed hunting, she also had a deep love for animals. Martha's faith was a guiding light in her life, and she cherished attending church.

She leaves behind many who will forever cherish her memory, including her son, Steven Parker; her stepchildren, Leslie Hicks (Glenda), John Hicks, April Hicks and Kathryn Cole; her loving boyfriend, Clifford Johnson; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Jones (Matt), Dusty Proctor, Chris Proctor, Jim Fontenot Jr., Danielle Fontenot, Joann Fontenot, Kaitlyn Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Michael Hicks, Daniel Hicks, Clyde Hicks 3rd (Trinity), Aaron Hicks (Nafeeza), Kaiden Johnson, Nathaniel Cole and Brandi Kae Hicks.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Jazmen Parker, Isabel Jones, River Fontenot, Ivy Fontenot, Hunter Fontenot, Celine Hicks, EJ Hicks, Merrick Hicks, Court Fontenot, Madison Hicks, Hunter Hicks, Colton Hicks, and Dixie Hicks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha is preceded in passing by her parents; her daughter, Sheryl Parker; her son, Jim Fontenot; and her stepchild, Clyde Hicks Jr. (Kim).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 12, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and will resume on Saturday at 11:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
