Martin Luther Simmons Jr.

Martin Luther Simmons, Jr., born in Lake Charles on February 28, 1952, son of the late Martin Luther Simmons, Sr. and Gloria Marie (Talbert) Simmons, passed away September 18, 2024, at the age of 72.

Martin attended S. J. Welsh High School and was a self-employed truck driver. He had a love of classic cars, but most of all, he loved his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Martin is survived by his sons, Kevin Shane Simmons and Timothy Wayne Simmons; daughter, Brandi Rae Trevino; brother, Richard James Simmons; sisters, Theresa Ann Simmons, and Vickie Lynn Whisenant; grandchildren, Katherine Belle Simmons, Angelina Amelia Simmons, Madison Paige Trevino, Michaela Marie Trevino, Fabian Simmons, Ethan Simmons, Poet Simmons, Adian Simmons, Linley Simmons and Gunner Simmons.

A gathering of friends and family will begin Saturday, October 19, 2024 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Cremation was under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
