Mary Ann Brinlee, 93, of Lake Charles passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in a local hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Mary was born in Oklahoma City, OK on May 13, 1925 and moved to Lake Charles in 1955. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, an excellent cook, seamstress, neighbor, friend, and someone who would help anyone in need. She was devoted to her Christian faith and was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene. Her love for Jesus was always evident. Her greatest joy was her family and friends. Her door and her heart were always open.
She leaves too many memories to list, but for sure the best beef jerky and the clothes she lovingly sewed for family will be cherished.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Donny Brinlee (Julie) of Owings, MD; twin daughters, Jenise Schafer (Arty) of Lake Charles and Denise Schill (Gary) of Spring, TX; brother, Kenneth Anderson (Shirley) of Harrah, OK; sisters, Darla Harden (James) of Sulphur, OK and Darlene Curtis of Australia; nine grandchildren, Troy Brinlee, Mechelle White (Yancey), Rob Brinlee (Rachel), Tiffany Myers (Jason), Joshua Schafer (Raychel) Megan Schafer, Greg Schill, Nicole Wall (Kenny), and Ashley Schill; fourteen great grandchildren; and twenty-one great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Tutter Brinlee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Hoffpauir and Rev. Ron Sherer will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume on Monday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
