Mary Elizabeth Blackmon-Moreau

Mary Elizabeth Blackmon-Moreau, 69, of Lake Charles left her earthly body for her Heavenly home at 9:08 AM on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Sulphur.

 

Mary was born on February 6, 1949 to Woodrow and Merle Chatagnier in Lake Charles. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and singing. Her passion was singing. She was a generous and fun loving lady who had a big heart. Mary was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a part of the choir.

 

She leaves behind her husband, Bradley Moreau; father, Woodrow Chatagnier; her children, Mike Tabor (Denise), Melissa Bader (Paul) Mark Blackmon, Melinda Guidry (Glenn), Blain Lanclos (Jill), and Glenn Lanclos (Melinda); sister, Lynda Armstrong; grandchildren, Kristina Daigle (Garrett), Jonathan Spivey, Rachel Henry (Jon), Matthew, Hannah, and Nathan Tabor, Amber, Landon, Noah, Aidan, and Chloe Lanclos, Paige Blackmon, Joshua and Courtlyn Taylor, and Monica Guidry; great grandchildren, Kyce, Brodee, and Emrye Daigle, Brydon Fillion, Arabella Spivey, and Jonathan Henry; more children, Vonda Barbie, Vickie Simmons, Michael Moreau, Steven Moreau, and Tara Sonnier; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Blackmon; mother, Merle Chatagnier; sister, Jo Rita Schooly; and grandson, Eric Spivey.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Wayne Dartez will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Sunday at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
