Mary Elizabeth Burns Crawford

Mary Elizabeth Burns Crawford, 66, of Lake Charles and Houston passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 peacefully in her Houston residence.

Ms. Crawford was born on August 4, 1952 in Lake Charles where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of St. Charles Academy and enjoyed her time spent attending LSU. Ms. Crawford’s family was her pride and joy and her passion in life was being a mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening, decorating, and managing and supporting her best friend’s music career.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Jason Dax Crawford of Houston; daughters, Michelle Marie Caple (Brandon) and Melissa Mae Crawford all of Houston; siblings, Catherine Mulhearn Earls, Francis Jones (Jeff), Martin Burns, Jr. (Shannon), and Janet Leveque (John) and their families; grandchildren, Catherine Michelle Crawford and Daxton Ray Caple; and her friend and caregiver, Susanne Marie Estaville of Houston. She also leaves behind her beloved Crawford in laws.

She was preceded in death by parents, Sidonie Soulier and Martin Glynn Burns, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM until the start of the service. An inurnment will take place at Consolata Cemetery at a later date.
