MARY JANE SMITH FORESTIER
JULY 25, 1935 – JANUARY 2, 2026
Mary Jane Smith Forestier, a woman of Catholic faith was born on July 25, 1935 to Paul Smith, Sr. and Mary Smith in Eunice, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Hathaway High School. Mary passed peacefully at Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles on January 2, 2026. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Mary enjoyed camping all over the United States with her husband Johnny and her family seeing many places across the country. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, visiting various casinos and collecting antiques on their travels. In her later years, Mary enjoyed playing cards and games with friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John Lovely Forestier, her parents, her brother Paul Smith, Jr. And her daughter-in-law Margaret Forestier. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Keith Forestier (girlfriend Pam Thibodeaux), Mitzi Hebert (Frank) and Scott Forestier (Cheryl). She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Robin McFatter Haney and husband Mike, and great granddaughters, Brianna and Cassidy Haney: siblings, Betty Flowers (Tommy), Jerry Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Forestier Family would like to express special thanks to our dear family friend and caregiver Beverly Ragland for the love and care given over the past year.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 7th in the chapel at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles with Father Alan Trouille as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a rosary at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Frank Hebert, Mike Haney, Kenny Martel, Tommy Richard, Warren Frazier, and Wade LeGros.
