Iowa-Mary Alice Guillory, 87, passed away in the American Legion Hospital in Jennings on Thursday, April 23, 2015.
Mary was born December 20, 1927 to the late Remi and Clothilde Vidrine in Washington, LA. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church where she was a Eucharist minister and a Catholic Daughter. Her hobbies included crocheting, spending time with her family, grandchildren, neighbors and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Franklin D. Guillory of Iowa; children, Charles Brent Fontenot (Brenda) of Oakdale; Shirley Renee Prejean (Curtis) of Iowa, Verna Duplechin (Scott) of Carlyss, Johnny Guillory (Cathy), of Iowa, Leonard Guillory, of Iowa; daughter-in-laws, Deborah Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Joy Fontenot of DeQuincy; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons, James W. Fontenot, Clifford Ray Fontenot and Frank Guillory, Jr.; parents and 9 siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Father Bennie Wego officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Sunday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
