Lake Charles-Mary Ann Savoy, 72, passed away in a local hospital at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Mary was born in Sulphur on January 30, 1943 to the late LeDovic and Lucille Leger LaBove. She was of the Catholic faith and loved her grandbabies, French music and coffee.
She is survived by her daughter, Vivian S. Elkins of Iowa; sons, Melvin “Bubba” Savoy, Jr. and Don Savoy (Colleen), all of Starks; special cousins, Ruby Morgan and LeRoy and Earline Pousson; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy LaBove, special aunt, Ruby Oquain and son-in-law, Carl Elkins.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Father Andreas Kedati in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Sunday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
