Iowa – Mary Jane Garcia, 74, passed away Monday, May 02, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Mary was born September 27, 1941 to the late Ovey and Azina (Hebert) Veronie in Mire, LA. She worked for George Theriot, Tri-State Tool Co. Plant Specialties and attended St. Raphael Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Survivors are her husband of 57 years, Antonio Garcia; children, Don Garcia (Phyllis), Michael Garcia (Karen) and Cheryl Cartwright (Jason); 10 grandchildren, Mindy, Joshua, George, Jeremy, Laken, Lacie, Jessica, Marlena, Andrew & Mikhail;17 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Aaron, Brianna, Skyler, Nylah, Jared, George, Michael, Shelbie, Maeghan, Trenton, Sasha, Madison, Lance, Aiden, Kierra & Aiden and her beloved pet, Chica. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Reevas Veronie and nephew, Ovey Veronie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Father Andreas Kedati officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation is Wednesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and will continue on Thursday in the funeral home until 1:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for their loving care of their wife, mom, and grandmother.
