Mattie "Virginia" Jones

Mattie Virginia Jones, known to friends as Virginia ,95, of Sulphur, LA passed away on May 9, 2024, in a local care facility.

Virginia was born on June 27, 1928, in Bossier City, LA to Oray and Viola Jordan. She enjoyed being around friends, family and keeping up with the news. She also loved taking holiday photos. She worked over the years at various places including Sulphur City Hall, Mullers, Sears, and last at Walmart for over 20 years.

She is survived by her two of her children, Lynn Carl Jones of Sulphur, LA and Alan Clinton Jones of Hanover, PA; three grandchildren, Heather Koonce of Carlyss, LA and husband Cory, Kristi Trahan of Carlyss, LA, and Kevin Jones and wife Amanda of Sulphur, LA; great grandchildren, Wyatt Koonce, Kemp Koonce, Brice Trahan, Blair Welch, Chase Jones, Logan Jones, Payton Boswell and Gabriel Jones; as well as 5 great- great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edwin Jones of Sulphur, LA; two sons, Larry Charles Jones and Don Clayton Jones; two grandchildren, Daron Robert Jones and Clinton Paul Jones.

Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Pastor Marcus Wade will officiate services.
