It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Maury Scott Miller, affectionately known as "Mo," who passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026. Born on October 5, 1967, in Kansas City, MO, Maury lived a life full of kindness and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Maury dedicated most of his career to the oilfield industry, starting his journey with Cliff Drilling and culminating his professional life as a safety supervisor for KBR in Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq. His colleagues and friends will remember him not only for his work ethic but for his warm spirit and caring nature.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his mother, Phillis Ann Miller Rigmaiden (Tom), his brothers Gary Miller (Jonna) and Chad Miller (Danny), and his niece Krystyn Schroll (Phillip). The love Maury shared with his family was unmatched and will always be remembered.
Funeral services for Maury will be held at Johnson Funeral of Iowa on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM, burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rusty Pousson, Johnny Dunnehoo, Derek Witherwax, Mannie Meche, Barry Miller, and Dustin Miller. Rico Palamino will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Maury will be profoundly missed, but the memories of his kindness and generosity will continue to live on in our hearts.
Maury was preceded in death by his father, Thomas "Butch" Miller, and his loving lil brother Davin "Boozer" Miller.
