Maydelle Ann Palombo, 71, of Sulphur, LA passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, July 7, 2019 at a local hospital.
Maydelle was born on October 16, 1947 in Lake Charles, LA to Rena and Willard Johnson. She was known for her generosity, love for her family, and hospitality to everyone she met. Maydelle enjoyed cooking, sewing, and baking. She also enjoyed gardening and will always be remembered for her famous chocolate cake. Maydelle was a lifetime member of the VFW in Lake Charles and she was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charles Palombo of Sulphur, LA; one daughter, Tonja Palombo Rapp and husband Pat; two sons, Jason Palombo and wife Shauna and Patrick Palombo; mother, Rena S. Johnson; three grandchildren, Harley Menard, Christian Palombo , and Madelyn Palombo; brother, Robert Johnson; brother-in- law, Rick Vallet; and very very dear aunt, Marleen J. Koenekamp.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on July 11, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Mrs. Maydelle’s ashes will be buried at Consolata Cemetery at a later date.
