Megan Teresa Nelson

Megan Teresa Nelson, 41, passed away on December 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Megan was a graduate of the 1995 class of Barbe High School and attended McNeese State University. She then worked at Sears, Sprint, Isle of Capri, and CARC. She is remembered as a people’s person that never met a stranger. She was a vocal, strong minded woman yet had a gentle touch. She enjoyed cooking and traveling. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Jurnee Elise Nelson; parents, Joseph and Janis Nelson; two siblings, Courtney and husband, Leyland Henry, and Joey and wife, Sonya Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bertina Nelson; maternal grandparents, Richard and Nola LeDoux; two nephews, Mason and Bryson Nelson, and niece, Chloe Nelson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Henry’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 15 at 11AM. Father Sam Orsot will officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 8:30AM until 10:30AM. A rosary will be held at 9:30AM.
