Melodie Swire (Miller) Thibodeaux

Melodie Delaine Thibodeaux, 48, of Lake Charles passed away on Monday March 20, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.

Melodie was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and Studied and graduated from Delta School of Business. As an extension of her love and compassion, she volunteered extensively in the bereavement ministry of the Diocese of Lake Charles, having experienced many losses in her own life including being a young widow. She was a member the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Elaine Benoit Swire; brothers, David, Curtis and Ricky Swire; sister, Cynthia Roddy and her first husband and father of her sons, Greg Miller. She is survived by her husband, Dallas Thibodeaux, sons, Matthew Joseph Miller and Mitchell Gregory Miller, all of Lake Charles; stepson, Gabriel Thibodeaux, Fenton; sisters, Clydie Gayle Carpenter, and Barbara Yates, both of Lake Charles; mother in law, Yvonne Boudreaux Thibodaux and parents of her late husband, Clifford and Eula Broussard Miller, all of Lake Charles and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be on Thursday March 23, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Friday March 24, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Vigo officiating. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
