Melva Leger LeBleu, 93, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:35 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in her residence.
Mrs. LeBleu was born on October 21, 1924 in Elton, LA and lived in Lake Charles all of her life. She attended Welsh High School. Mrs. LeBleu was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time as a seamstress, cake decorator and leather worker in her earlier years. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a past member of St. Theodore Catholic Church where she was a Catholic Daughter and currently belonged to St. Margaret Catholic Church. Mrs. LeBleu was also a member of the CFMA.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Brenda Young (Melvin) of Lake Charles; sons, Mike Leger of Lake Charles and Randall Leger of Zachary, LA; sister, Dorothy Bell of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Dana Reed (Todd), Tara Smith (Nick), and Joshua Leger; and four great grandchildren, Hanson, Harrison, Levi, and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gustave Leger; second husband, Paul LeBleu; a daughter, Mary Leger; parents, Clara and Henry Bell, Sr.; sister, Eula Mae Meche; and a brother, Henry Bell, Jr.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Vijay Peddoju will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 10:30 AM.
