Lake Charles–Funeral services celebrating the life of Melvin Eli Hebert, 90, will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Hebert passed from this life Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in a local care facility. He was born on April 13, 1925 to the late Levy and Edia Ardoin Hebert in Woodlawn ,a member of Christ the King Catholic church and a resident of Lake Charles since 1978. Mr. Hebert enjoyed listening to music, hunting duck and deer. He was also a member of the Singles Club and the Cajun French Music Association.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Hebert Boudreaux (Charles) and Randall Hebert (Peggy), both of Lake Charles; sister, Betty Treme (Harold) of Elton; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and companion, Laura Hardy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Benoit Hebert; son, Stanford Paul Hebert, daughter-in-law, Sally Shea Hebert, and siblings, Corrine Graham, Harriet Trahan and Millard Hebert.
