Melvin LeDoux, 74, passed away January 17, 2017 in a local hospital surrounded by his family. Melvin retired from the Calcasieu Parish Ward 4 working with heavy equipment after 30 years. He loved to garden, camp, hunt, and fish and have cookouts with his family and in his earlier years he raced motorcycles and rode his Harley’s. Melvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Gilland; four sons, Kelvin (Teri) LeDoux, Randy LeDoux, Jamie (Misty) LeDoux and Joey (Brandy) LeDoux; his grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) LeDoux, Trey Augustine, Katie (Johnny) Morgan, Corey and Nick LeDoux, Austin Vincent and Kailyn Vincent and Kaden LeDoux; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Kopen, Brentley and Kinlee; and his sister in law and brother in law Barbara and Danny Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Harry LeDoux; and two brothers, Lee and Ray LeDoux.
Services for Melvin will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Reverend Rob Tibbits officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines North under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of service.
