Merlin Jude Daigle, born April 9, 1943, son of the late Levi and Beatrice (Cary) Daigle, passed away December 13, 2019, in Texas, at the age of 76.
He lived in Texas, but he was a true Cajun at heart. Growing up, Merlin loved working in the rice fields and then, at the age of 19, he left Louisiana to go work on the Southern Pacific railroad for 36 years.
Merlin loved his heritage, family get togethers, cooking, traveling and was the greatest story teller ever. He also loved beaches, camping and was an avid reader, especially Westerns.
These are just a few of his passions. If you knew him, he lived larger than life. Merlin was always willing to help family, friends, and strangers in their time of need. His son’s, Jeff and Steve, would like to invite you to attend Merlin’s Celebration of Life to be held at the Daigle Carriage House on January 18, 2020 beginning at 3 p.m. Gumbo, food, and drinks will be provided.
Merlin’s wish was that we would not grieve his passing, but have an old fashion get together one last time.
