Michael Claude Albarado, 80, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on April 29, 2026, surrounded by his family at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on February 9, 1946, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. He was a dedicated member of the Pipefitters and Steamfitters Local Union #106 and worked as a pipefitter at Firestone Polymers for many years until his retirement in 2011.
Michael lived a life marked by hard work, devotion, and quiet wisdom. He was someone others could depend on—steady in difficult times, generous in spirit, and deeply proud of those he loved. His presence brought comfort, guidance, and laughter to family gatherings and everyday moments alike.
He was an active coach in youth sports, enjoyed hunting in his younger years, and was an avid fishing. His greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind a lasting legacy of love in their hearts.

He is also survived by his nephews, Mitchell Bergeron of Sulphur, Louisiana, Greg Fussel of Houston, Texas, Christopher Albarado of Sulphur, Louisiana; his nieces, Stephanie Taylor of Banks, Alabama, and Rachel Albarado of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude Joseph Albarado; Johnnie Leora Albarado; and his brother, Teddy Joseph Albarado.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 7, 2026, at 3 PM at Parkview Baptist Church,1623 Picard Rd, Sulphur, La 70663 under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Brother Randall Chesson will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30PM to 3 PM. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3PM.
The values he passed down—faith, perseverance, loyalty, and kindness—will continue through generations. Michael will be remembered for his warm heart, his enduring strength, and the many memories shared with those closest to him.
Though our hearts grieve his absence, we take comfort in the promises of the Lord and in knowing that we do not sorrow as those who have no hope.
The family asks that Michael be remembered not only in sorrow, but in gratitude for a life that touched so many.
