Michael Julius Daigle, 75, of Iowa, LA passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 in a local hospital.
Mr. Daigle was born July 9,1950 in Jennings, LA to George Raphael Daigle and Frances Payne Daigle. He was a graduate of Lacassine High School and studied Business Agriculture at McNeese State University. He worked thirty years farming Rice and Soybeans on his family land. His experience in operating, maintaining and repairing farm equipment led him to work as a heavy equipment operator and regional mechanic for twenty years for Maxim Crain. He was a gifted and well-respected mechanic. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping. Amongst his greatest times were RVing with family and friends for annual trips to Senora, TX where they often spent the holidays. He also found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Daigle was a genuinely good man with a kind heart and generous nature. He was always there to help others. He was a former member of FFA and the Bell City Knights of Columbus and the KOC basketball team. Mr. Daigle will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his beautiful blue eyes, sweet smile and comforting voice.
He leaves to honor his memory, his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-six years, Diane Marie Romero Daigle; one daughter, Nicole Daigle Croker (William) of Iowa; son, Joshua Aaron Daigle of Iowa; daughter-in-law, Crystal Aline White Daigle; seven grandchildren, Devin Paige Croker, Ayden Joseph Croker, David Michael Daigle, Kyleigh Jade Daigle, Kenneth Jack “Kenny” Daigle, Christopher Aaron Daigle and Justin Daigle; one sister, Valerie Kaye Daigle of North Louisiana; one brother, Kevin Dale Daigle of Lacassine: nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Garrett Michael Daigle; daughter-in-law, Stacie Fay Daigle; one sister, Donna Daigle and three brothers, George Alan Daigle, Paul Daigle and Tommy Ray Daigle.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, January 12, 2026 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 am until the start of services with a rosary service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment services will follow at Lacassine Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers for his services will be his brothers-in-law, Donald Romero and Dale Romero.
