Michael "Mike" Emmons

Michael “Mike” Emmons, 66, of Longville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Kingwood, Texas at his daughter’s residence.

Michael was a longtime resident of Longville, and owner of Emmons Fireplaces. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, raising cattle and breeding Catahoula Curr dogs.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Gene Emmons; niece, Becca Snovelle; nephew, T.J. Emmons. Surviving him are his children, Mike Emmons and wife Shauna, Chesapeake, VA; Joanna Summers, Ponca City, OK; Tim Emmons and wife Heather, Longville; Sarah Eldridge and husband Bobby, Kingwood, TX; and Chris Savant and wife Brittney, Longville; grandchildren, Allison, Adam, Jennifer, T.J., Kayla, Cameron, Kay, Anna, Beth, Kenzie, Logan; great grandchildren, Caralyn and Ayden; mother, Gloria Emmons, Gridley, KS; brother, Terry Emmons and wife Mary, Jacob’s Creek, KS; sisters Nita Morris, Gardner, KS; Cindy Dixon and husband Richard, Piedmont, OK; and Gayle Bittle, and husband I.J., Altoona, KS as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Vistation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday October 29, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Deacon George Carr officiating.
