Michael Norman Whitlow

March 27, 1953 — April 17, 2017

Michael Norman Whitlow, 64, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away suddenly at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on March 27, 1953, in Livingston, TX.

Michael, or Mikee’ as he was known to his friends and family, loved watching NASCAR with his cat “Rowdy.” He loved a good hamburger and he loved his many colleagues through the years in the car sales industry.

More than anything else, Michael loved his family, especially his bride of fifteen years, Donna, or “My Donna” as he affectionately referred to her. They had the kind of relationship most married couples can only dream of having, spending quality time with each other talking and sharing their day. It was not a rare occasion to find them riding their golf cart with their rescue dogs, Dollie and Jesse, at their side enjoying their evenings together.

On Sundays, after church, Michael and Donna loved to spend time with their daughter Paige and her husband, Bryan. Michael and Donna also loved to eat crabs with Cora and Mike. Michael was grateful for his “instant grandson,” Collin, and for the entire Harris family adopting the Whitlows. Michael treasured his political talks with Susie and expressed great joy when spending time with Courtney, Chase, Scott and the “Burch boys.” It has been said of Michael that he, “Lived to Love and he loved ALL.”

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Walter and Norma Dietrich Whitlow.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna and his daughter, Paige along with her husband, Bryan Harris. Michael also leaves his sister, Pat Griffin, her husband Brett, and their two sons, Jason and Justin.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, officiated by Rev. Weldon Bares. Michael received God’s word every Sunday through “Brother Weldon” at First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles, and he lived the other days of the week with Rev. Bares’ message at heart.

The family would like to especially thank “Whit’s Volkswagen family” for their love and support during this difficult time.
