Michael Eugene Robinson, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 2, 2026. He was born on October 26, 1953, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Fred Calhoun and Edith Johnson Calhoun.
Michael was happiest when he was busy. A hardworking man by nature, he never cared much for sitting still and was always looking for something to do. Whether spending time fishing, browsing flea markets in search of an interesting find, or enjoying an evening of karaoke, especially when singing his favorite song, "Silver Wings," he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He also enjoyed listening to the Bernie Allen Band and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the New Orleans Saints and LSU football.
Those who knew Michael will remember his generous heart and easygoing, lovable nature. He cared deeply for the people in his life and found great happiness in spending time with those he loved.
He leaves behind his long-time companion, Lisa Stutes, whose love, and companionship meant so much to him. Although he had no children of his own, Michael embraced Lisa's family as his own and loved them dearly. He is survived by her daughters, Elisabeth Landry (Derrick), Stacy Pierson (Bennie), and Megan Cannon (James); grandchildren, Addison, Blaison, and Emma Landry, Max, Beaux, and Darby Pierson, and Liam Cannon; great-grandchildren, Hassen Cormier and Eli Landry; his sister, Alice Breaux; and his niece, Lisa Willis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steve Calhoun; his sister, Dinetta Calhoun; his niece, Sheila Ware; and his great niece, Jada Berger.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Harbor Hospice and Derrick Landry for the kind and compassionate care of Michael and our family during this difficult time.
