Michael Leo "Mike" Thompson

Michael Leo “Mike” Thompson, 58, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:22 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025 in a local hospice facility.

Mr. Thompson was born on February 27, 1967 in Deridder and spent the majority of his life in Lake Charles. A 1987 graduate of Barbe High School, Mr. Thompson went on to work for Family Auto as a service writer, a position he held for 10 years.

Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith and found strength and comfort in his beliefs. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the drums—a passion that brought joy to both himself and those around him. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kimberly “Kim” Thompson of Lake Charles; his children, Madisen Elizabeth Chauvin of Lake Charles and Kelsey Lyn Fraim of Snyder, TX; his mother, Billie Beth Kemper Thompson of Lake Charles; a sister, Debra Mae Thompson of Deridder; and three grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Thompson.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
