Michael "Mike" Troy Lejeune

October 15, 1946 — April 17, 2023

Michael “Mike” Troy LeJeune, born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 15, 1946 to Camille Joseph LeJeune, Jr. and Mary Henrietta Hebert LeJeune, passed away from this earth and ran into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the age of 76.

Mike was a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather who instilled a strong work ethic in those he loved. He began driving a tractor at the age of 4 to help his dad on the rice farm and then followed in his footsteps to become an accomplished commercial fisherman and hunting guide. He also was a highly skilled carpenter and owned M&G Construction, which he retired from in 2012. Mike loved people, having never met a stranger, and to be in his presence was to feel unconditional love. He was one of a kind and will always be remembered for his warm laugh, mischievous smile, kind and generous heart and the best hugs. He also fiercely loved his family and continually gave of himself to those he loved with no expectation of anything in return, always reminding them to thank “the big man upstairs” every day. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always their biggest fan and supporter. He loved sharing stories of their latest accomplishments with anyone who would listen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother in-law and father in-law, two sisters, four brother in-laws and a nephew. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia “Ginger” Thomas LeJeune of Lacassine, daughters Michelle LeJeune Langley (Clyde) of Lacassine, Yvette LeJeune of Lacassine, Tina LeJeune of Westlake and Jennifer LeJeune (LonNeil) of Lacassine; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters and numerous generations of nieces and nephews; and a special lifelong family friend, Mary Underwood.

Dad, though you are gone, we know that nothing but our sadness can really pass away, and we are so thankful for you and all the sweet memories that you have gifted us and left behind to cherish in our homes, our heads and forever in our hearts.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Brown Funeral Home.
