Michael Wayne Newman

Michael Wayne Newman passed away August 30, 2021, in a local hospital at the age of 66. Michael was born on July 23, 1955, to Cooney Newman and Freda Murphy.

Michael was loved by many as he was a very kind and loving man. He loved shooting pool and hanging out with his many friends. Michael worked in the oil field for many years until his retirement.

Michael is survived by his wife, Katherine Fontenot Newman; son Benjamin Matthew Newman; stepson David Fontenot; stepdaughters Jessica Fontenot and Eva Burnett; grandchildren Michal Perry, William Perry, Rhiana Fontenot, Ethan Burnett, Jace Burnett; our beloved dog Peanut and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Freda Murphy; stepfather Eddie Murphy; father Cooney Newman and sister Barbara Brown.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made towards final expenses at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
