Iowa – Michelle Martin Sonnier, 52, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Michelle was born in Lake Charles on April 3, 1963 to the late Wilbert Martin and Ursula LaBove. She was a graduate of Iowa High and McNeese State University and taught 8th grade at F. K. White Middle in Lake Charles. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed tending to her potted plants, spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Ursula LaBove of Iowa; daughters, Mandi Miller (Shawn) of Lake Charles and Odreonna Brankline of Iowa; brothers, Eric Martin of Iowa and Troy Martin (Daphne) of Forest Hill, LA; niece and nephews, Erika Martin, William and Gussie Martin; grandchildren, Jairus and Blayden Miller. Michelle is also survived by family in Germany. Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Martin.
Funeral services are Friday, August 28, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Glyn Bogard officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service, with a rosary at 5:30 p.m.
