Iowa ~ Mike Edward Marcantel, 61, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mike was born in Lake Charles on November 18, 1956 to the late Frances and Jewel (Chestnut) Marcantel. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Gravity Drainage in Iowa. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his sons, Heath Marcantel (Kassi) of DeQuincy, Shannon Marcantel (Wendy) of Iowa, Casey Marcantel (Konstance) of Mamou; brother, Bobby Marcantel (Geraldine) of LeBleu Settlement; sisters, Emma Clement of Lake Charles, Mary Pearce (Leonard); 3 grandchildren and one on the way; the mother of his children, Gay Nell Marcantel; godchild, Brigette Marcantel Reed; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joe Cormier officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and resumes Tuesday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.
