Lake Charles – Mildred Frances McClelland Herriger, born May 4, 1946 in Orange, Texas, daughter of the late Thomas Ollie McClelland, Jr. and Alpha Marie Key McClelland, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 in a local care facility, at the age of 72.

Frances was a graduate of Lake Charles Christian Institute and attended Texas Bible College in San Antonio. She was a member of Livingway in Lake Charles for many years. Frances loved reading the bible and working word puzzles. She was a gifted accordion player. Her loving, kind and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Maria LeAnne Tomlinson of Junction, Texas and Robin Michelle Wilson of Point Blank, Texas; siblings, Myra Joyce Peterson and husband, William of Lake Charles; Mary Katherine “Kathy” McClelland of Lake Charles; Tom McClelland and wife, Ginger of Sulphur; 5 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren; father of her children, Robert Herriger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ollie McClelland, Jr. and Alpha Marie Key McClelland; brother, David Wayne McClelland.

Funeral services are Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, 505 East Hwy 90, Iowa, with Revs. Charles R. Nugent & Chuck Huddleston officiating. Graveside services will follow in Claybar/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 4560 Highway 87 South, Orange, Texas at 3 p.m.

Visitation is Monday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
