Mitch Trahan

Mitchell “Mitch” Trahan, 68, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born in Jennings, LA on November 16, 1955, to L.D. Trahan and Bertha Lee Miles.

In 2018 Mitch retired from Calcasieu Parish School Board. Early on he found retirement did not suit him, so he quickly picked up a part-time job doing what he loved, working outdoors ensuring everything was immaculate. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan; he enjoyed cooking for a crowd and the crowd loved his cooking. His favorite pastime was going with his brother, Patrick to the camp in Toledo Bend preparing for what he deemed the best season of the year, deer season!

Mitch was preceded in death by his Father L.D. Trahan, Stepdad Wilford Hebert, Stepbrother Neil Manuel, and Granddaughter Aria Trahan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Crystal Trahan (Gordon McGee), Megan Trahan-Castille (Anthony Castille), Mattheau Trahan (Jessica), mother; Bertha Lee Miles (Robert), Stepmom Glenda Trahan, significant other, Janelle Authement, daughter Kendee Authement and son Richard Authement II (Tiffany). Mitch had 7 grandchildren, Jade, Jenna, Raeleigh, Aria, Colby, Brevynn, and Jolie. His siblings, Lin Trahan (Angel), Bonnie Fontenot (Bob), Patrick Trahan (Darla), Greg Manuel, and Vicky Broussard (Marty). Mitch had many nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Visitation will resume at 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, also at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
