Mohammad Ayub Khan

Mohammad Ayub Khan, 74, of Lake Charles, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2023 at a local hospital with his family at bedside following a brief illness. 

A native of Lahore, Pakistan, Mr. Khan received his graduate degree in Pharmacy. He was a longtime resident in the Gautier/Pascagoula, MS area as a chemist before running his own business for many years. He retired in 2002, and moved with his wife to Lake Charles to be close to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Islamic Society of Lake Charles. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mir Khan and Rashida Begum, as well as seven brothers, Mansoor Khan, Masood Khan, Anwar Khan, Akhtar Khan, Sarwar Khan, Taj Khan, Goga Khan, and granddaughter Taylor Phillips. He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memories, his beloved wife, with whom he just celebrated 52 years of marriage, Ijaz Akhtar Khan; as well as four sons who became physicians, including Mohammad Khan, MD, and wife Karen, Lake Charles, LA; Mir Akbar Khan, MD and wife Asma, Lake Charles, LA; Mohammad Afzal Khan, MD and wife Brandi, Lake Jackson, TX; Ameer Khan, MD and wife Rabia, Lake Charles; brother Talat Khan, sisters  Rahat Arif and Rooh Afza Khan; grandchildren, Taryn, Kolbi, Harlee, Quin, Fatima, Ali Akbar, Aman, Amir Akbar, Amir Adil, Amirah, Neely,  Ali Ayub, Hinnah, Aydin, Sufia, Jasper, Acree, Aahil, Merjaan, and Sara, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart. We also would like to thank the staff on 2 Tower and 9 Tower ICU at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care. 

Funeral Services were held at the Mosque at Lake Charles on Monday June 5, 2023. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens, all under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
