Mona Sharon Arceneaux

Mona Sharon Arceneaux, 67, of Hackberry, Louisiana passed away June 12, 2022. She was born September 24,1954, and was a 1973 graduate of Barbe High School. She attended McNeese State University, Texas Academy of Arts, and also received a "Culinery Arts" degree from Sowela Technical School.  From a young age, she began learning the art of painting from her grandmother, Gladys McCall. She was very talented and has been commissioned by numerous people for her artwork. Throughout her years, art brought her joy and peace.

She lived many years between Lake Charles, Grand Chenier, and Hackberry, but Grand Chenier was always closest to her heart. She became a Cameron Parish Mosquito Control Inspector for 25 years before having to take early retirement for her cancer diagnosis.

She will be remembered as an artist, friend, and an extraordinary mother who did anything possible for her daughters and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lawrence Arceneaux, Jr, and Emma McCall Arceneaux; three siblings, Phyllis Ann, Patrick Ross, and Robert Brian. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Tanya White (Paul White) of Cypress, TX and Stacy LaFosse (Robbie LaFosse) of Grand Lake,

LA; grandchildren, Lance LaBove, Cole White, Emma White, and Xander Finch; sister-in-law, Jo Seay Arceneaux;

nieces, Christina Arceneaux Bazzinet and Angela Seay;

nephews, Don Charles Arceneaux and Timmy Seay; two great nieces, Rami and Gemma Bazzinet; along with lifelong friendships she held dear to her.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter Apostle Catholic Church on June 16th, 2022 in Hackberry, LA. Viewing at 9:00 am till 11:00 am Rosary. Immediately following the Rosary, mass will be said in the church. Once concluded, graveside burial will be done at Immaculate Conception cemetery in Grand Chenier, LA at 3:30pm.
