Myra Joyce McClelland Peterson, born in Orange, Texas on October 25, 1949, passed away on September 11th, 2021, at the age of 71 in her home, with her beloved husband by her side, when she departed this life to her heavenly home.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Alpha Marie Key McClelland, father, Thomas Ollie McClelland Jr. of Orange, TX; sister, Mildred Francis Herriger, of Lake Charles; brother, David Wayne McClelland of Orange, TX.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, William (Skip) Peterson of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Mary Katherine McClelland, and brother, Thomas Ollie McClelland, III and wife, Ginger. both of Lake Charles, LA; two children: son, Daniel, and wife, Crystal Talley of Humble, TX; daughter, Angelia and husband, Jim Cienkus of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren: Caleb and wife, Iris Talley of Porter, TX; Shawn and wife, Kelsey Talley of Porter, TX; Ethan Talley of Humble, TX; Braden Wiley; Cooper Wiley; Samantha Wiley; and MacKensie Joy Wiley; all of Plainfield, IL; great grandchildren: Olliver M. Talley; Morgan Talley, and Kennedy Talley of Porter, TX.
Joyce was a dedicated and loving homemaker, mom, and caring grandmother, to her grand and great grandchildren. She had many hobbies to keep her busy, and happy. Mostly being a Godly
influence and encourager to everyone that crossed her path.
Joyce loved singing songs of praise and worship. Her hands were always guiding, building, and supporting wherever there was a need. She found her goals in life, serving others, while remaining dedicated in her relationship with her husband Skip.
Funeral services will be held in Livingway Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Brent Keating and Rev. Chuck Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 4560 Highway 87 South, Orange, Texas. Visitation will begin in Livingway Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
