Nancy Ann (Lindeman) Pennartz

May 2, 1943 — February 7, 2022

Nancy Ann (Lindeman) Pennartz, of Lake Charles, LA, 78, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, following a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Nancy was born on May 2, 1943, in San. Diego, CA, to Alvis (A.R.) Lindeman and Loretta (Hoffman) Lindeman. She was the first of their five daughters and grew up on the family dairy farm in Windthorst, TX. Nancy was Salutatorian of her 1961 graduating class from Windthorst High School. She was a secretary, licensed florist, co-owned and managed their trailer park and a Blackjack Dealer at the Isle of Capri in Lake Charles for 19 years. Nancy was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.

She always said that dynamite comes in small packages and she weighed only 98 pounds most of her life. She was very opinionated and always talked in paragraphs, not sentences. Her personality could be called flamboyant, so it was no wonder she was attracted to peacocks, bright colors and anything that sparkled. She loved garage sales, tea parties and playing Pokeno. She could milk a cow, speak German, cook, sew, decorate, paint, garden and make her famous Rum Cake.

Nancy considered her most important roles in her life to be the wife of Edward Joseph Pennartz, whom she married on June 29, 1963, in Windthorst, TX, and mother t three children and grandmother to six grandchildren.

Her family has called Louisiana home for many years and even though she was a Texas girl at heart, she deeply loved her Louisiana home and friends. Her “partner in crime” and best friend for over 40 years was Bobbie Ogea.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Edward; two sons, Mike and wife Amanda of Dayton, TX, Chris and wife Vivian of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Susan Rasberry and husband Tommy, Jr. of Hathaway, LA; grandchildren, Brandon, Lana and Eliza Pennartz, Katelynn Stretcher and husband Emile, Megan and Nicholas Rasberry; sisters, Carol Simons and husband Kenneth of Plano, TX, Linda Melton of New Braunfels, TX, Joyce Capron and husband Joe of Wichita Falls, TX, Loyce Huffman and husband George of Archer, TX; in-laws, Janice Jackson of North Richland Hills, TX, Lawrence Pennartz and wife Liz of Plano, TX, Patricia Morath and husband Jim, Johnny Pennartz and wife Phyllis, Bobby Pennartz and wife Elaine, Arthur Pennartz and wife Delores all of Wichita Falls, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Bart Melton and David Jackson; sister-in-law, Carlotta Pennartz Brown.
