Neil Warner Duhon, 87, of Lake Charles passed away at 3:20 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in his residence.
Born in Lake Charles on October 3, 1938, he was a proud graduate of LaGrange Senior High School, where he excelled as a star student. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served for two and a half years. During his military service, he was stationed in Munich, Germany, and Berlin, where he stood guard along the Berlin Wall during a pivotal period in history.
Following his service to his country, he dedicated his life to the welding profession. A lifetime pipeline welder, he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and pride in a job well done. He loved working and remained active in his trade long after many would have retired. Even in retirement, he continued sharing his skills at local welding shops, including Den Mar Enterprises in Sulphur.
Beyond his work, he found great joy in music and dancing. He especially loved dancing to Cajun, country, and swamp pop music.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Carolyn LeJune Duhon; his son, Zane Warner Duhon (Christy); step children, Angie Randolph (Danny), Monica Suzanne Ardoin (Kent), and Tonya Rachelle Pousson; grandchildren, Benjamin and Brielle Duhon; step grandchildren, Sarah Davenport (Robert), Eric Ney, Jacob Kyle Ardoin (Sarah), and Eric Joseph Trahan; and step great grandchildren, Ella and Wyatt Davenport and Avery and Nash Ardoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Mary Duhon and a step grandson, Devyn Foster Trahan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles. Pastor Steve James will officiate. Burial will follow in Duhon Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and continue until the start of the service.
