Nell Jane O'Conner

Nell Jane O’Conner, 92, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2018.

Mrs. O’Conner’s focus was on her family. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. Her daughters fondly remember her cooking and the clothes she used to sew for them. Many happy family vacations were had. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Collins (Roger), Dianna Burnett (Daniel), and Teri Falcon (Dale); sister, Virginia Finley; seven grandchildren, Shannon Collins Credeur (Chris), John Collins, Daniel Burnett Jr. (Missy), David Burnett (Amanda), Matthew Burnett, Tim Oxley, and Katie Oxley Pourciau (Jarrett); ten great grandchildren; and her beloved niece, Tammy Reed McBride (René).

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 1/2 years, Thomas O’Conner; brother, Robert Guidry; and sister, Wanda Reed.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 10AM on Monday, December 31. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5PM to 8PM on Sunday, December 30 and will resume Monday morning at 9AM until the start of the service.
