Nell Ware Fontenot, 92, of Lake Charles, La died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family. Nell was born on July 25, 1922 in Monroe City, Missouri to Floyd and Mary Lillian Ware. Nell worked for Olin Chemical for 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed being around family and friends. Nell also loved entertaining people, cooking and gardening. She was an avid reader. The highlight of her life was her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Billye Gay "Bitsy" and Daniel ( son-in-law, whom she considered to be the son she never had) LeBlanc; four grandchildren, Melissa and husband Dr. Michael Sims, Dana and husband Troy Rodrigue, Cindy and husband Ray Slettevold, and Julie and husband Scott Willis; twelve great grandchildren, Molly and husband David Forsyth, Christopher and Leah Sims, Ryan, Lillian, and Ellen Rodrigue, Michael and David Slettevold, Jacob, Rachael, and Michael Willis, Sarah and husband Jack Credeur; two great great grandchildren, Eloise Alivia Forsyth and Zadie Credeur; one sister, Charlene Prejean; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Edison Fontenot and Billy Daniels (father of Mary Nell and Bitsy); daughter, Mary Nell Daniels Smiley; two sisters, Ruth Nunez and Marjory LeBleu. Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Rev. Tom Bruce and Father Matthew Cormier will officiate services. The family would like to thank Dr. Louise Becnel and Dr. Michael Broussard along with Christus Hospice, especially Elinor and Roxanne for the wonderful care and compassion given. Also a special thanks for the care given by Fr. Matthew Cormier and Rev. Tom Bruce.
