Nelson John Gary

Nelson Gary, born August 14, 1938, son of the late Roy and Julia (Pousson) Gary, passed away August 27, 2022, at the age of 84.
Nelson, a graduate of Lacassine, served in the U. S. National Guard. He farmed and was a truck driver. Nelson enjoyed fishing, playing music, and being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda Gary, and sisters, Betty Ann Thibodeaux, and Dorothy Gary; sons- in-law, Charles Meyer, Jr., Duncan Fuselier.
Nelson is survived by his son, Robert Lee Gary (Rhonda) of Iowa; daughters, Roxanne Bagwell (John) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Renee Marshall (James) of Coldspring, Texas, Djuna Marie Meyer of Iowa, Trina Gary of Iowa and Belinda Fuselier of Iowa; sisters, Margie Gary, and Dolores Granger; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and a rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m.
