Norma Shoemake

April 10, 1937 — June 13, 2017

Norma Shoemake, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in a local hospital.  Norma was born in Lake Charles and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur.  She was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur.  Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and adoptive Maw Maw to many. 

Norma is survived by three daughters, Vickey Lyons and partner Chris Long, Norma Guidry and husband, Jason and Janet Laughlin and husband, Tim; three sons, Billy Douga, Harold Douga, Jr. and wife, Chryel and Darty Douga and wife, Sheila; her grandchildren, Billy R. Douga, Jr., Bridget R. Karr, Angela Fruge, Candice Marcantel, Jason R. Douga, Nikki Louviere, Lucas Lasha, Melissa McDaniel, Justin Lyons, Veronica Midkiff, Valerie Foster, Jillian Shilling, Noelle Mills, Erin Guidry, Amanda Douga, Sara McGuirk, Ariel Shoemake, Justine Parr and Nicholas Laughlin; and numerous great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harold Douga and Billy B. Shoemake; her parents; and her siblings, Leon Moore and Audrey Gill. 

A Mass of Christian burial for Norma will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Ruben Buller officiating.  Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4-9 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 6 PM and will resume on Friday from 8 AM until time to leave for the church.
