Norman Lee Coffman Jr., 80, passed away with his wife by his side on September 27, 2026.
Born in Houma, Louisiana, Norman was raised in Bastrop, where he was a 1964 graduate of Bastrop High School. Upon graduation, Norman joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country for four years.
In 1979, Norman moved to Lake Charles, where he took a position with Citgo. He worked there for nearly two decades, serving as a chief investigator in security and as a shift supervisor. After retiring in 1997, Norman eventually moved to Ragley, where he started a farm. He raised Certified Black Angus cattle and enjoyed that work for more than ten years.
Norman was a man who enjoyed staying busy and doing things his own way. He was a dedicated traveler and spent many miles on his motorcycle with a local motorcycle club. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed the time spent outdoors.
Those left to cherish Norman's memory include his wife Brenda Spikes Coffman; his children, Michael Medley (Nina) and Michelle Boone (Shane); and his grandchildren, Taylor and Kayla Miller, and Nicholas and Zoe Medley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Norman's birthday, Friday, October 2, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Military funeral honors will be rendered at 6:00 p.m. by the United States Air Force
