Odelia Marie “Punky” Dauzat, 65, a resident of Pitkin, passed away from this life on February 19, 2024, in DeRidder, LA. She was born on June 6, 1958 in Lake Charles, LA.

Punky is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Marie Johnson Morein; father, Robert “Bob” Jackson; adoptive father, Alfred Morein; stepdaughter, Melissa Wiggins; grandparents, Harvey & Odelia Johnson; uncles, Harvey “Neils” Johnson, and Joseph Edward “Joe” Johnson, Sr.

Survivors are her husband, Craig Dauzat of Pitkin, LA; son, Dakota Wiggins (Victoria) of Hineston, LA; stepson, Brody Dauzat (Susan) of Rosepine, LA; stepdaughters, Lane Anding (Cody) of Pitkin, LA, and Tasha Gilcrease (Nathan) of Pickering, LA; brother, Harvey Morein (Jeanette) of DeRidder, LA; sister, Jo Marie Owens (Robert “Bob”) of Ellenton, FL; step-sister, Sabrina Valenty (Jerome) of Lake Oswego, OR; stepbrothers, Will Jackson (Jennifer) of Shoreline, WA, and Mike Morein ( Vivian) of Sulphur, LA; stepsister, Val Cutter (Ron) of West Linn, OR; half-brothers, Jon Jackson (Lisa) of Molalla, OR and Jason Jackson of Molalla, OR; aunts, Sally Domingue (Harold) of Welsh, LA and Kelli Brown Johnson of Lake Charles, LA; uncles, Robert Johnson (Carol Sue) of Welsh, LA, and Andrew Johnson (Rhonda) of Elizabeth, LA. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chance King, Brody Dauzat, Scott Irwin, Jace Morein, Brandon Morein, Tucker Flynn. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Anding, and Josh Thetford.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. in 1st Baptist Church, 7240 LA-463 in Pitkin, LA. Robert “Bob” Owens, officiant. The family will receive friends in the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
