Ollie Dean Pittman Newsom

Ollie Dean Pittman Newsom, 96, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 7:01 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Newsom was born November 26, 1923 in Ellisville, MS and has lived in the Lake Charles area since 1963.  She was raised Baptist and enjoyed attending Glad Tidings Assembly of God.  She enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo, working word search puzzles, and family gatherings.  Her greatest joy in life was for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Newsom is survived by her son, Darrell Williams and wife Rena of Moss Bluff; daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Guidry and husband Patrick of Westlake and Wanda Gay Richard and husband Curtis of Topsy; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and was proud of each of them; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henslin Lee Newsom; sons, David and Terry Williams; daughter, Sharon Broussard; nine brothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild, Cory Wix.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel of Moss Bluff.  Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
