Opal Babineaux

Opal Mae Babineaux (Guidry), 82, passed away on November 16, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.  Opal was born on April 10, 1934 in Lake Charles to the late Cyrus and Stella Guidry.  She was raised in Sweetlake, LA where she met her future husband, George.  Opal was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sulphur, LA.  One of her many joys in life was having the family gathered at her house each Sunday and enjoying her cooking.  She also enjoyed many different forms of crafting. 

Opal was preceded in death by her husband, George.  George and Opal were married 67 years and raised five children.  Opal is survived by her five children, Jacqueline Bryant and husband Mark, Kenneth Babineaux and wife Sheila, Judy Hinton and husband Dean, Jennifer McAdam and husband Glenn and Keith Babineaux and wife Sheila.  She also left behind and will be missed by her 18 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. 

Services for Opal will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Arvin Harrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines North.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 6-9 at the funeral home and will resume on Saturday from 8 am until the time of service.
