Orgy Joseph Broussard, born December 29, 1926, son of the late Hypolite and Leola (Stewart) Broussard, passed way Friday, February 10, 2023, at age 96.
Orgy was member of the Cajun French Music Association Hall of Fame. He was a constable for 32 years and was the 2020 Constable of the year in the state of Louisiana.
Orgy worked as a glazer for 32 years. He played in the Lake Charles Buccaneers as a drummer for 20 years. Orgy enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, frogging, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Hilland Broussard, Winfred Broussard, Hilda Romero, Harvey Broussard, and Riley Broussard.
Survivors are his wife of 74 years, Adrienne Hebert Broussard; daughters, Debbie Foreman (Paul), and Gerry Fontenot (Tim); sister, Leola Procell; grandchildren, Kyle Foreman (Melanie), Jordan Foreman (Amy), Megan Leger (Gil), and Lindsay Campbell (Bruce); great-grandchildren, Gemma Campbell, Gabriel Campbell, Genevieve Campbell, Mia Grace Leger, Ana Claire Leger, Asa Foreman, Emma Foreman, and Aiden Foremen.
Funeral services are Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Monsignor Jace Eskind, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Sunday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 5:30 p.m., and will resume Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
