Iowa – Oscar Ray Cummings, born August 3, 2015 in Lake Charles, son of Andrew Cummings and Brittany Fontenot, passed away in Sulphur, Friday, February 14, 2020, at the age of 4.
Oscar enjoyed playing outside on his swing set, singing & fishing, watching Paw Patrol and loved being with his brothers. He loved helping cook by mixing stuff together and always wanted to wear his dad’s boots. Oscar was a very loving, smart, affectionate, strong little boy who always had a hug and a smile for everyone.
Survivors are his parents, Andrew Cummings and Brittany Fontenot; siblings, Javon Marcantel; Andrew, Jr.; Marcell; Calvin; Michael; Izabella; Mariah Cummings; Isabella Sawyer; paternal grandparents, Matthew and Julie Fontenot; Randy and Ruth Cummings; maternal grandparents, Joe “Chester” and Alisha Cormier; paternal great-grandmother, Ernestine King; maternal great-grandparents, Ronald and Margaret Fontenot; Francis Prejean; aunts, Ashley Cormier; Ashley King; Angel Johnson; Jasmine Cummings; uncles, Tyler Cormier; Randy “C.J.” Cummings, Jr; numerous great aunt’s and uncle’s.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Ronald King, Jr.; great-great grandparents, Alcide and Bessie Langley; Chester and Shirley Cormier, Sr.; Alvin and Sally Fontenot.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Pastor Dwayne Daigle will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
