Oscar Raymond Poe

Oscar Raymond Poe, 89, of Hicks, LA passed away on October 28, 2018. Oscar was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly where he was Director of Music and a member of the Westlake Masonic Lodge #443. He loved singing, playing music and hunting elk and deer in Colorado.

Oscar always was on the go, traveling all over the world. He worked as a construction superintendent, starting out at Chicago Bridge and Iron.

Oscar is survived by his 2 sons, Michael D. Poe and wife Sonia of Lake Charles, LA and Joel R. Poe of Eunice, LA; his daughter, Ellen Kay Poe Lester and husband Ronnie of Pineville, LA; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; twin brother, Ray Poe of San Diego, CA; 2 sisters, Faye Baker Chapman of Houston, TX and Estelle Merchant of Hicks, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66  years, Juanita Herrington Poe; parents, Robert Alvin Poe and Lucy Brack; and daughter, Julie Poe White.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Beard officiating. The family will receive friends at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 12 P.M. till time of the service.
