Othal Cooledge “Bo” Hathaway, Jr., 70, died Sunday, April 23, 2017, in his residence, with his family at his side.
Born to Othal Cooledge and Betty Rae Madison Hathaway, Bo was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and attended LaGrange Senior High School. He served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U. S. Army in Vietnam from 1966 until 1968. He worked in the oilfield for Dresser Atlas and operated Conoco and Texaco service stations in Lake Charles for twenty years, retiring in 1988. He loved fishing and classic cars. Bo enjoyed life and great times with good friends.
He is survived by three daughters, Menda Spell of Durham, North Carolina, Catherine Hathaway of Sulphur, and Tebble Hathaway of Moss Bluff; two brothers, Mickey Hathaway and wife Linda and Robert Hathaway, both of Lake Charles; one sister, Paula Arabie and husband Mark, also of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Lindse Runge, Corey Spell, Sara Martin, Cami Hathaway, Peyton Robertson, and Noah Richard; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Prien Memorial Park. Rev. John Huckaby will officiate.
