Pamela Diane Gaspard

Pamela Diane Gaspard, 50, of Sulphur, LA went to be with the lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at a local hospital.

Pamela was born on September 8, 1966 in Lake Charles, LA and was a 1984 graduate of Barbe High School, where she was active in the band. She attended Sowela Technical College. She enjoyed Bowling and was part of the Sunshine Girls Bowling league for a number of years. Pamela also was an avid fisherman and loved to go crabbing and traveling with her family. She will be remembered for her positive outlook on life; she was always laughing and always smiling.

Left to cherish Pamela’s memory is the love of her life, Derrick Smith; daughter, Sheila Cogan Fuselier and husband Joshua of Lake Charles; son, Robert Cogan and wife Deedra of Lake Charles; mother, Martha Fabacher Gaspard of Lake Charles; father, Abbie Leo Gaspard, Jr. and wife Ida Mae of Lake Charles; two brothers, Lonnie Ray Gaspard and wife Becky of West Lake, and Steven Bryan Gaspard of Lake Charles; sister, Donna Lynn Guillory of Lacassine; six grandchildren; as well as her beloved dog, Magnus; and numerous other family members.

Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Gaspard; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abbie Gaspard, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Fabacher.

Pamela’s funeral will take place at Johnson Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Father Anthony Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
