Lake Charles

Patricia “Pat” Landreneau

Patricia Joyce Landreneau, 86, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in her assisted living home.

Mrs. Landreneau was born to Claude David Sudderth and Ruby Cohron Sudderth March 1, 1940, in Chickasha, OK and was raised in Pueblo, CO. She later met and married her sweetheart, the love of her life, James (Jim). Together they made Lake Charles their home, where she lived for most of her life.

Mrs. Landreneau was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was always a place of warmth, care, and encouragement. After raising her children, she worked for a greeting card company, stocking cards at K-Mart. She later managed a photography company at Prien Lake Mall, where she enjoyed helping create special memories for families through photographs with Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and other featured guests. During her later years she was slot attendant at the casino.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Landreneau valued friendship, and fellowship. During her younger years, she enjoyed Tuesday mornings bowling at Bowlarena as a member of a local bowling league with her teammates and friends. She also looked forward to uninterrupted weekly gatherings of spirited card games, primarily Booray and looked forward to playing Bingo every chance she had. She treasured the many friendships formed through her hobbies.

Amongst her greatest joy was cooking for her family and faithfully preparing meals for Sunday gatherings and holiday celebrations for as long as she was able and babysitting or spending time with her grandchildren through the years.

A woman of deep faith, Mrs. Landreneau was a longtime member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

Mrs. Landreneau was caring, kind, and generous, while also being independent, strong-minded, and resilient. Her memory will be forever cherished.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Rachelle Lomonaco (Dino) of Lake Charles, Steve Landreneau (Susan) of Longville and Scott Landreneau (Brandi) of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Mandie Oates, Kayla Verret (Clint), Brittany Leger (Troy), Michael Landreneau, Alison Bushnell (Jesse), Ryan Landreneau and Brooke Landreneau; step-grandchildren, Brittni Simon (Wes) and Bryce Manuel and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, James Burton Landreneau; parents, Claude and Ruby Sudderth; one sister, Shirley Ann Johnson and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Chiasson Landreneau.
