Patricia Ann (Chenier) Mallet, 69, peacefully departed this life at her home at 5 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015. Patricia was born February 25, 1946, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Alfred Sr. and Elva (Roberts) Chenier. She attended Grand Avenue High School until her junior year and graduated from Paul Dunbar High School in Washington, Louisiana in 1964. Patricia later attended McNeese State University and Lincoln Business College in Beaumont, Texas where she received a degree in Business. In September of 1967, Patricia married the love of her life, Eugene Aloysius Mallet. They moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana where she resided for over 47 years. Patricia retired from Calcasieu Parish School Board in 2008 after 17 years of employment at Oak Park Middle School. She also worked at Combre Funeral Home and Holly Hill Nursing Home as an activity director. Patricia was most dedicated to her family and their education, success and happiness. She was an avid school mom and Parent Teacher Organization President. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Band Booster for LaGrange High School and a Team Mom for both football and baseball. She also served as a mother figure and positive influence to many in her community. She loved people and was loved by many. She enjoyed music, dancing, photography, art and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; one nephew, Ray Chenier, Jr., one grandson, Khoury Alexander Mallet and one brother, John P. Chenier. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Aloysius Mallet; three sons Cedric Gerard Mallet of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Patrick Eugene Mallet of Houston, Texas; Aaron Paul Mallet of Pearland, Texas; one daughter, Alisha Michelle Mallet of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two grandsons, Kaleb Ethan Samuels Mallet and Draysen Pierre Mallet of Houston, Texas ; five brothers, Alfred (Joyce) Chenier, of Houston, Texas; Wilfred Chenier of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Albert Joseph (Ann) Thomas of Huffman, Texas; Preston (Doris) Chenier and Ray (Sandra) Chenier both of DeQuincy, Louisiana; three sisters, Elizabeth (Calvin) Skinner of DeQuincy, Louisiana; Elva (Connie) Davis of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Mary Hayes of Humble, Texas and a hosts of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday September 25, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 1:30 PM at St. Henry Catholic Church with Monsignor Danny Torres serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Consolota Cemetery.
